Completing Past Lives

The more settled we are in peace, the more we notice when subtle waves come our way. Past unresolved experiences may surface to be held in presence and in love. Sometimes, a recurring emotion may not seem to be linked to any particular experience. Holding it in a meditative space may allow a past life experience to surface. For example, I had a recurring fear that mistakes I made would cost someone their life. After resolving numerous other related anxieties, this one remained with no particular anchor. One day I held the fear meditatively, sinking deeply into it while staying fully present. An impression of my four children and wife in a tenement building dying from disease (none of which match my current life) rose into my awareness. I held this former male laborer version of myself compassionately for several minutes. Peace permeated the experience. And, the fear stopped recurring in my life.
